How do you put it all together?

I have just begun redecorating my room & I have too many ideas floating in my head. People keep advising I just add my personality, but that’s the problem.

My style is pin up/rockabilly. Personality- bold & spontaneous & loud. I would love to have a bright color, like red. Love cheetah print! Maybe the bedding. Have a ton of classic horror movie posters, pin up & political memorabilia i would like to incorporate. I just don not want it to be too overwhelming.

I’m also a very outdoorsy person & love nature & photography. I meditate & would like to be a “zen space” as well. Live near the beach & LOVE to put some aspect of it in my bedroom. have some bamboo ceilings or as stupid as it might sound, just something to give it a “beachy” feel.

Any ideas on what i should do?

You sound like alot of fun! That’s alot of theme to try to put into one room. What if you put your posters into frames, like a movie theater, gives it a little more class. Use your sense of humor to incorporate the political memorabilia. Something has got to give with the cheetah prints and red paint and posters….not practicle together, sounds like the Cheetos tiger on drugs LOL, use one thing at a time…go very simple and sit on the bed and think, now what does this wall need. Easy does it.

McFarlane Toys Halo Figures

McFarlane Toys Halo Figures are catching on in popularity. If you are a collector there are plenty to choose from. These action figures look almost exactly like the characters from the Halo game. Most come with weapons and some come with vehicles. Other vehicles can be bought separately.

If you are getting these as a gift for someone, ask ahead of time what they have. There are so many available that it would be a shame to get him or her one that he already has.

The hologram ones are actually pretty cool. And there is even a helmet collection that will fit on almost all of these action figures.

There are male and female characters to choose from, which is nice to see. The Halo odd pods are just that – odd. They are more in the cute category, while the other action figures seem like they would be a lot more fun to play with.

I know my friend’s son prefers the ones with the guns and special cars over the Halo odd pods and is always asking for the other action figures to add to his collection. Anything that can be launched or crashed is usually a big hit with him.

Although he has many of the other toys  in the McFarlane collection, out of all of the McFarlane toys Halo figures are his favorite, even above and beyond the sports figures. There just seems like there is more that you can do with them and there are a ton more accessories for him to play with. He can spend hours playing with this set alone and has to be dragged away from the McFarlane toys Halo figures when it is time for supper or bed.

Twilight Jewelry for Bella, Jacob, Edward and Victoria and Alice

Twilight Jewelry has become the newest collectors item in the Twilight series. You can purchase Bella’s ring, charms made for team Jacob or team Edward, Victoria’s pendant or Alice’s choker necklace. And then you can even get the Twilight music box to keep them all in.

If you are planning to get these items as a gift for a girl who is really into the Twilight series, she will undoubtedly love them. As I have mentioned before, my niece is totally into the Harry Potter series. When my mom got her Hermione’s jewlery the kid just about flipped out.

I happen to like Alice Twilight jewelry the best, simply because she is my favorite character. I mean, how cool would it be to be able to see into the future? It would be awesome if they did a series on her and what happened to her to make her the way she is. Her back story must be fascinating.

Anyway I digress, as usual, if there is a particular piece of Twilight jewelry from this any of the movies let me know and I will see if I can find the company that sells it. I happen to think collecting the jewelry boxes might be even cooler than the jewelry. I love the ones of Jacob and Edward.

A cool idea for a gift might be to get Bella’s ring and the jewelry box for either Edward or Jacob, depending on who she prefers or just go straight for the Bella and Edward jewelry box. Just a thought.

There are tons of things that you can get her from this series. I like the Twilight jewelry idea as a gift though because most kids will already have everything else from the series.

Wonder Woman Costumes

Wonder Woman costumes are fairly easy to find and not that expensive. My sisters and I used to love to dress up like wonder woman and act out the different episodes. There was something so exciting about being able to make bullets bounce off the bracelets and making the bad guys talk buy wrapping them up with the golden lasso. The boys could keep their spiderman and superman. We had our invisible jets and cool accessories.

We are now on the hunt for Wonder Woman dolls and comics for you, as well, and I will post them as soon as I find them. I have to admit, it is really fun tracking these things down. It brings back some awesome memories. At the same time I am kicking myself for not keeping the Wonder Woman and Bionic woman dolls that I had when I was a kid.

Would they have been in mint condition? Not a chance. I played with them way too much. But they would have been really cool to pass down to my niece. She and I watched a few of the old Wonder Woman episodes on my last trip up and she really got into it.

The odd thing is that I had forgotten about the whole war time slant. I remembered that Diana worked for the military and fought the “bad guys” but I had completely blocked out which war was going on. That part never factored into our play. We just tied up one of our cousins up with the lasso and hoped the adults stayed occupied until the scene we were working on was over. Wouldn’t it would be nice to go back to that child like innocence?

And I suppose you can when you order your wonder woman costumes for your child or yourself for Halloween. Have fun!
