Grease Movie Memorabilia

How do I take care of of my katana?

I recently bought a Hattori Hanzo Samurai Sword, a replica of the one used by Bill in the “Kill Bill” movies. It has some liquid on the blade when I bought it. I’m assuming it’s grease to keep it from rusting, but I’m not sure. Should I leave the liquid on the blade, or take it off? Would I need to reapply it? This is merely memorabilia for me, and I don’t plan on using it.

if you’re never going to use it just keep it in it’s sheath.
besides I’ve never seen one of those kill bill copies as a battle ready sword. they are usually just wall hangers.
if you do intend to use your katana you can get a cleaning kit in a descent store.

the basics for cleaning the katana are the following
first wipe down with the rice paper (kitchen paper will do fine too) to remove the old oil.
then cover the blade in lime with the ball shaped object
remove the lime with another piece of paper
cover again in new oil
and you have one clean katana.

What’s up with my hubby?

My husband has a “collection” of half-naked women memorabilia. You know, old Playboy calenders, various “nudey” magazines, XXX movies and such. He has calenders and magazine covers displayed on the walls of his room. (He has his own space for his junk.) I thought maybe this was a phase that he would eventally grow out of as he got older, but so far he’s still acting like a closet horny teen. Is this normal for guys in their 30s and up to be so offensively blatant about sex? I try not to be a prude about it but I can’t help to think that this is the reason he’s turned on all the time. He literally chases me around the house sometimes bugging me about wanting to have sex. I’m a “3 times a week with prior notice” kind of gal so it really irritates me when he’s in heat. What do you think?

look, most men do this. and some women do this also. some people never grow out of this. u should be happy that he chases u around and not other women. talk with him and find out what u can do to make sure he is happy in the bed. just make sure he doesn’t compare u to them. as long as he is not wishing that u were them then don’t worry about it. and about u being a 3 times a week with prior notice. makes u think what is he doing for u? maybe he needs to focus on u and not playboy materials.

If a movie is relatively unknown than the poster, even signed, won’t be worth more than $50. Valuing items of great value is more tricky. If someone has such a treasure it would be wise to take it into a professional evaluator and get a good quote as to its value.

How do you put it all together?

I have just begun redecorating my room & I have too many ideas floating in my head. People keep advising I just add my personality, but that’s the problem.

My style is pin up/rockabilly. Personality- bold & spontaneous & loud. I would love to have a bright color, like red. Love cheetah print! Maybe the bedding. Have a ton of classic horror movie posters, pin up & political memorabilia i would like to incorporate. I just don not want it to be too overwhelming.

I’m also a very outdoorsy person & love nature & photography. I meditate & would like to be a “zen space” as well. Live near the beach & LOVE to put some aspect of it in my bedroom. have some bamboo ceilings or as stupid as it might sound, just something to give it a “beachy” feel.

Any ideas on what i should do?

You sound like alot of fun! That’s alot of theme to try to put into one room. What if you put your posters into frames, like a movie theater, gives it a little more class. Use your sense of humor to incorporate the political memorabilia. Something has got to give with the cheetah prints and red paint and posters….not practicle together, sounds like the Cheetos tiger on drugs LOL, use one thing at a time…go very simple and sit on the bed and think, now what does this wall need. Easy does it.
